MacBook Air was launched today by steve jobs at the MacWorld expo in San Francisco. (Or San Franfreako as some call it)

The MacBook Air is Apple's answer to the Ultra Light, Ultra Thin laptop market. In recent years it hasn't faired so well in this market against the PC's.

It was no surprise to anyone that Apple showcased an ultra-thin notebook called the MacBook Air. At around 3/4" thick at its widest point, the 3 pound MacBook Air is wedge shaped and tapers down to less than a 1/4".

The Macbook Air also has a led backlighting on a 13 inch screen and multi touc keypad. The MacBook Air has big shoes to fill, but right now as the standard MacBook Air's are outfitted, it should be an easy climb, provided the MacBook Air doesn't run into performance problems other Ultra Light laptops have run into.
